Tuesday, May 3: Athens, OH - Parkersburg, WV - Marietta, OH : 50 mi

Stayed in an AmericaInns, a rather large regional motel. When I got there, I asked the price ($99). I asked for other motels in the area. She hesitated and asked how much I was willing to spend. I told her and that's what I paid. [Wendy, it pays to shop around.] It had a hot tub where I soaked my first sore muscle and the best continental breakfast. So I can't complain at all.

Not much of a hike to Marietta, OH. Route 50 was great with a 12 ft shoulder. I hope Route 50 through West Virginia is just like the section in Ohio.

Spent an half hour riding around Marietta OH. Nice town. Currently at the library.
